_My name is [Viktoriia](https://www.linkedin.com/in/viktoriia-olshanskaia/), and together with my colleague [Sreman](https://www.linkedin.com/in/sreman/), we are conducting research at LUT University on Civic Tech and Generative AI._
_Our research explores the affordances (action possibilities) that currently exist within civic tech ecosystems. Drawing on the Extended Mind framework, we aim to better understand whether GenAI acts primarily as a **cognitive extension**, enhancing human thinking and capabilities, or rather as a**cognitive substitution**, replacing parts of cognitive work._
_As part of this project and an upcoming academic publication, we are conducting interviews with people who actively engage in civic tech._
